GHA REFUSES CAMPAIGN’S COMPLAINTS

Glasgow Housing Association have refused to put this Campaign’s complaints regarding an 8.4% increase in the Factoring Management Fee and the implementation of standing orders for repairs into their Complaints Procedure.  This is a disgrace and a denial of openness, transparency and accountability.  To counter this denial of democracy, a number of GHA factored homeowners have written complaints on the above and have sent them in to be registered within the GHA’s complaints procedure.  It is incumbent on GHA Ltd. to set aside the 8.4% increase in factoring management fees and standing orders on repairs until these complaints are dealt with.

The next open meeting of the Campaign will be held on Thursday 25 October at 7 p.m. at Jury Inn Hotel, Jamaica Street, Glasgow.  The agenda for the meeting will cover: (1) An update on the random survey into overcladding and reroofing; (2) overcharging by GHA on repairs etc.; (3) Asbestos update; (4) Legal cases pertaining to factored homeowners being ignored for overcladding and reroofing; (5) the issue relating to factored homeowners being excluded from the Glasgow Factoring Commission; (6) the poor treatment of homeowners in Carntyne and Sighthill.

Any homeowners factored to any housing association with any current problems will be helped by this Campaign and should come to the meeting on 25th October.
