THE SOCIAL INJUSTICE OF THE HIGH COST OF OVERCLADDING

We have had a response from the Scottish Government on the issue of GHA factored homeowners having to pay large sums of money for overcladding while others get it for nothing or for a nominal cost.  The response from the Scottish Government is wholly inadequate and does not even address the issue of retrospective refunds for GHA factored homeowners.  Therefore, we have no alternative but to intensify our campaign from this point onwards.

If you are a GHA factored homeowner who has paid out a large sum of money for overcladding, you are due a retrospective refund and we call on you to come to our next Glasgow Homeowners’ Campaign meeting at the Jury Inn Hotel, Jamaica Street, Glasgow, on Thursday 20th June 2013 at 7 p.m.

PROTEST AT GHA CHIEF EXECUTIVE’S HOME

A group of factored homeowners went down to Biggar to the home of Martin Armstrong, Chief Executive of GHA Ltd., firstly to protest at his refusal to meet with us, and secondly to do anything about the fact that 24,500 factored homeowners have paid, or are paying, an average of £7,500 for overcladding and reroofing while other homeowners are now getting the same work done for nothing or are only paying a nominal sum.

This campaign will intensify against the GHA and Scottish Government in the weeks and months ahead unless common sense prevails and all parties meet to resolve this issue.  It is clear to us that the only acceptable solution is a refund for all GHA factored homeowners who have paid excessively for this work to be done.

For any homeowners reading this who are affected, please come to our next meeting on Thursday 20 June at 7 p.m. at the Jury Inn Hotel, Jamaica Street, Glasgow.
